IJBI

FROM EDITOR’S DESK

It given immense pleasure to announce that inception of the academic venture of our “Breast Imaging Society, India” has finally become reality in the form of “Indian Journal of Breast Imaging”. This journal has been introduced with the aim of assisting growth of researchers who have been working dedicatedly in this field. The journey has not been easy but the goal is very clear. The entire editorial board has been working hard to provide the readers with extensively peer-reviewed articles which may have impact in their day-to-day practice. The team is aiming for IJBI to be a suitable platform for the researchers to share their innovative studies which would interest as well as enrich the readers.

It has become evident recently that Asian population has different presentation, etiopathogenesis and outcomes for breast diseases as compared to the West. Therefore the limitations and needs are also unique. Although we follow and welcome guidelines and work from across the world, we would hope for this journal to be particularly beneficial to physicians and radiologists who need distinctive approach, the one that suits their population. The ongoing advances in the field of breast imaging have been embraced by most of the world and needs to be evaluated for feasible inclusion in our guidelines now.

It is hope that IJBI will serve as a perfect platform for exchange of ideas and innovations which can address emerging issues for patient management. This journal would serve as an excellent opportunity for scientific networking and sharing knowledge which may help in bridging the existing gaps at all levels.
